Electric Entertainment Newsletter Term 4!
Welcome back parents and students! We hope you have had an exciting break and are ready for another semester full of fun and dancing and performing! Remember students are welcome to trial multiple classes for free and can bring as many friends as they like to trial classes for free also.
Uniform and Shoes have arrived!
Our uniforms and shoes have arrived. The final payment must be made in order to pick up your uniforms and shoes. Unfortunately our jackets were not up to standard, we apologise there will be a slight delay on these. We are hoping to receive them approximately week 3-4 of this term.
We expect that one top garment be purchased as part of our compulsory uniform, however we will have a huge range available and would love for students to be decked out in our gear. We can arrange for student’s names to be embroidered on items, so no lost property. We can also arrange dance mum and dad jackets to be made, for all of our proud parents.
We have a range of sample sizes in all shoe styles, which will assist in sizing up your child’s feet for shoes. Shoe sizes that are not in stock will be available to order, please speak to Pete or Sherree at the front desk. A deposit of 50% is required when placing a shoe order.
Correct shoes must be worn for the concert this term. Wearing the correct footwear and clothing not only teaches safe dance practice, but also assists the students to hear and feel movement.
Fees
Just a reminder to receive a discount on fees, term fees must be paid by the end of week 3. By week 4, if term rate has not been paid the casual rate will apply. Payment can be made via Eftpos, direct debit or cash. If paying by direct debit, please include your child’s name so we know where the money has come from please.

Our Very First Concert ‘Ignition!’
12th November Dress Rehearsal and Performance at Peter Moyes Anglican Community School.
Dress rehearsal starts promptly: 12pm (students are recommended to be there at approx. 11:45am)
Performance starts: 5:30pm
The stage rehearsal will be in the afternoon prior to starting the concert that night. This allows the students the opportunity to practice their positioning and routine/s on stage. Students who do not attend the dress rehearsal will not be permitted to perform in the concert. Students will be expected to attend dress rehearsal with full hair and make up completed and arrive in their costume. Students will be given a break in between the dress rehearsal and the performance; however, please ensure there is no eating or drinking coloured liquids while wearing their costume.
We will be taking orders for hotdogs and hot dog combos (drink and a hot dog) for the concert break for families to have a picnic on the grass area during the break between the rehearsal and the performance. Please ensure you book and pay in full before the concert to secure your meal with Sherree or Pete. Hot dogs are sold for $3, drinks $1 or $3.50 for a combo of both.
Tickets and more concert information is provided in your concert information pack which can be found HERE and also given to your child after their classes. From this link you will also find the song tracks for your child’s items. If you have any queries, please speak to Sherree or Pete.
We will also be running a raffle at the concert to help raise money for the Youth Beyond Blue charity which provides support for young people dealing depression and anxiety. We would greatly appreciate any donations that may be used as prizes for the raffle. Donations can be handed to Pete or Sherree during our normal operating hours. We thank you very much for your support!
Remember all students who are not performing in the concert are more than welcome to continue to attend classes and will not be treated any differently to students who are performing in the concert. It is all about fun and fitness!!
By the end of Week 5, Term 3, students who are participating in the end of year concert must attend classes on a regular basis. If students are unable to dance, but are still able to attend classes in order to watch, is better than the child not attending the class at all. We request though that students that are contagious please notify Sherree or Pete to let us know the child will not be attending class on that day. Students who miss 3 or more classes from Week 5, Term 3 until the concert date, will not be permitted to dance in the concert. It is important that students attend class on a regular basis to perfect their choreography, know their placements within the dance, participate in their part for group work sections and it also helps the whole team collaborate together. We have also put the cut and edited version of the songs used in class so parents can encourage their children to practice at home.
We will be having a hair and costume tutorial in the last 5 minutes of each class on the 22nd and 29th of October, two weeks before the concert, so that parents can see what is the required. Every student from each class will receive a costume note outlining costumes, shoes, hair, tights, make up etc. to ensure everyone knows what needs to be organised. These notes started to go home with your child after their classes this week and will continue to go out next week. If you are unsure about any of the hair and make up please see Sherree. Appropriate shoes and tights must be worn and will be clarified in this note also.
Students will receive their costume in a costume bag with their name written on it. The costume bag is for the students to keep for future performances. Please ensure all costumes are in your child’s costume bag and are labelled with masking tape stating what dance item the costume is for around the top of the coat hanger.
If you elect for your child to perform in our concert, costume hire (where applicable) will be $50.00 per costume. Please note this is for hire only and costumes must be returned at the conclusion of the performance and will be tracked to ensure they are returned. All costumes will have an accession number in them and upon return will be ticked off the list. Any costume and accessory not returned will incur a replacement fee. After the performance students are to leave their costume and their accessories in their costume bag for collection. We will return the costume bags to students as soon as possible.
We require some den mums to help with the running of the performance, by sitting with their allocated group, assisting students to get ready for their performance, prepping students by lining them up to go on stage and taking them back to the green room after their performance. Unfortunately these parents will not be allowed to sit in the audience and watch the performance, however we are happy for you to watch side of stage. We ideally need one parent per group so if you are able to assist we would be extremely grateful. Please let Sherree or Pete know ASAP if you are able to assist with this.
More information will be provided soon regarding all upcoming events. Thanks again for all of your support and we look forward to continuing our great year together!
